We’ve been taught that to love oneself is selfish,
That we can only ‘love’ others,
when what we do instead is attach to others,
to fill what we can not find within ourselves,
because we believe we aren’t worthy,
and do not deserve to stand tall in our true greatness.
That in order to be worthy of love,
we ‘need’ to do this — or — that
Like a robot
Suppressed from the inside,
Governed by the outside,
Trapped behind the bars of our own creation
Oh the irony,
For we have always had the key to our freedom
It hangs inside of us all
